   I was hoping for a nice piece of furniture that would be painless to set up. The box said clear instructions along with quick and easy assembly. Lies! First there were not instructions in the box. I emailed the company and explained we had no instructions. I left my mailing address thinking they would mail me a set. Instead I got an email with just the instructions. No apology. Nothing. Just the instructions. Nice. I am a college graduate and earn a living flying a jet aircraft. That being said the instructions are confusing! The piece we bought is part of an optional two piece set. At first I thought I had the wrong set of instructions. I then scrolled down and saw a drawing that looked like what we bought.

   I printed out the parts listing and made an inventory. The number of screws, nails and hardware I had was about half of what was listed. I was thinking they shorted me. Instead of getting mad I just started building the unit. As it turned out the entire instruction set is written and constructed for both the base which we have and the optional hutch (which we don’t). This is why the parts inventory was off.

   The whole “quick and easy” assembly is a lie. I am an able bodied 31 year old male. Some of the instructions were flat out confusing. Every screw needed super human force to get all the way in. Eventually I to resort to my drill with a phillips attachment to get some screws in.

   After it was all assembled the unit look nice. This is a slightly above average piece of particle board furniture with a nice laminate.

   To sum it up. South Shore furniture has iffy support, horrible instructions and average products.

   I was looking for a nice sturdy TV stand that wasn’t outrageously priced, and after a lot of online and in-store searching I decided on this one. I just got done putting it together a few hours ago and so far I am extremely pleased with my purchase. The stand looks nice and matches pretty well with most of my other furniture in my room.

   I had the stand shipped to my local store, and it arrived in a fairly compact box and wasn’t too banged up, so I was happy about that. When I opened the box up at home I was relieved that all pieces were in the box and instructions were included. I believe it actually came with a few extra pieces; not sure if this was a mistake or if they give you extra in case you lose anything.

   I am 23 years old and not overly handy, but I was able to put this stand together by myself in about 2 or so hours (being distracted by march madness may have added to my assembly time). The only tools I needed was a hammer and a screwdriver. The instructions are pretty easy to follow.

   I have a 52″ samsung TV on the stand and it fits very nicely. The drawers are nice for storage of DVDs or other junk, although they are not especially deep. Overall, so far I’m very happy with the stand and would recommend it!

   We bought this stand for a new 40″ LCD we bought that we didn’t intend to mount. The TV fits perfectly on the stand. The stand looks great, it’s classy and contemporary. We looked at a lot of stands but picked this one because it looks great and on Amazon was a great price.

   I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 only because it was a little hard to put together in some places. But if you have some time and a buddy, you can get through it without too much trouble.

   My wife was very skeptical about this piece. She kept wanting to see it physically but we couldn’t find it anywhere. We kept looking for a new TV stand because we were moving from out old 27″ tube TV to a big screen HD. We looked and looked and I kept coming back to this piece of furniture. It had all of the doors and shelves that I was looking for – a place for DVDs (and even VHS tapes), exposed shelves for components that I always wanted to be well ventilated, and even room for surround sound speakers w/o being obtrusive. Amazon turned out to be even cheaper than Walmart for this piece. Its construction is excellent. It was relatively easy to put together – a piece of cake for anyone who has done any flat-pack furniture in the past. This one was one step better than any of the others I’ve built because *all* of the parts were numbered. Other manufacturers force you to identify the pieces from the parts list. I even came “armed” with a Sharpie to label the parts when I happily found that they were pre-labeled. Everything fit together perfectly. The only “hard” part was aligning and adjusting the hinges on the doors but even that wasn’t hard. It comes with a full back that gets nailed in place. but for my purposes, I left it completely off for easy of cabling. It would be kind of nice if the backing was in 3 separate sections so that the parts behind the doors could be installed w/o the center part where I have lots and lots of cables. But even with the back off, the piece looks great, is very sturdy, and is everything I hoped it would be.

   I am pretty happy with this piece. I had a little difficulty putting together. I spent about 4 hours by myself (You really do need two people) then had a friend come over and we finished in an hour…but the biggest problem are two screws that they align directly opposite of each other that mess up the drawers. The two screws cannot be made flush since they hit into each other and that makes the drawers unable to slide – solution removed one of the screws and now both drawers slide.

   For the money this is a good TV Stand. My 46 in Sony looks great on it.
